1. Experimental background
The measurement of the effective ingredients of proprietary Chinese medicines has always been a difficult point in the industry, because in addition to the effective ingredients, Chinese medicinal materials also contain a large number of other ingredients. Chinese patent medicines made from multi-flavored Chinese herbal medicines have more complex ingredients. It is conceivable that it is difficult to detect a trace amount of one or more effective ingredients in the presence of large amounts of impurities (irrelevant ingredients).
In the past, it was only possible to determine the total content of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, etc. in certain medicinal materials. Traditional methods generally use chemical analysis and chromatographic analysis to obtain approximate component content. However, traditional methods have long measurement times and cannot be automated. Shortcomings such as production line docking.
This test was commissioned by a well-known pharmaceutical company to test the feasibility and measurement accuracy of the on-line measurement of the content of tangerine peel in the powder of traditional Chinese medicine by the MS-540 near infrared spectroscopy component analyzer of German Moerss.
